What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that is stored on the user's device containing information about their browsing.
The user is hereby informed that this website uses cookies and/or similar technologies that store and retrieve information while browsing. In general, these technologies may serve a wide variety of purposes, such as, for example, recognising you as a user, obtaining information about your browsing habits, personalising the way in which content is displayed, the user's browsing language, the country, the login session, the browser's characteristics, or even information about the date and time of the last visit, traffic parameters within the website and the number of visits.
The specific uses that we make of these technologies are described in the table of cookies contained in this policy.
What types of cookies exist?
According to their purpose:
- Technical: These are those necessary for browsing and for the proper functioning of the website. They allow, for example, traffic and data communication to be controlled, restricted-access areas to be accessed, the purchase process of an order to be carried out, security features to be used, etc. These cookies do not require the user's consent for their installation, in accordance with the provisions of the Cookies Guide of the Spanish Data Protection Agency and the legislation in force.
- Personalisation: These are those which allow access to the service with certain predefined characteristics on the basis of a series of criteria, such as, for example, the language, the type of browser through which the service is accessed, the regional settings from which the service is accessed, etc. These cookies do not require the user's consent for their installation, in accordance with the provisions of the Cookies Guide of the Spanish Data Protection Agency and the legislation in force.
- Analytical: These are those which allow the number of users to be quantified in order to carry out the measurement and statistical analysis of the use that users make of the service offered. To this end, the user's browsing on the website is analysed with the aim of improving the range of products or services offered.
- Behavioural advertising: These are those which store information on the behaviour of users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which makes it possible to develop a specific profile in order to display advertising on the basis thereof.
- Advertising: These cookies allow the management of the advertising spaces included in this website, such as, for example, the frequency with which the advertisements are displayed.
According to the length of time for which they remain active:
- Session cookies: These are temporary cookies that remain in the browser's cookie file until the website is left, so that none is recorded in the device's memory. The information obtained by means of these cookies serves to analyse traffic patterns on the website. In the long run, it makes it possible to provide a better experience in order to improve the content and facilitate its use. You may identify session cookies in the table set out in this policy, under the heading "Upon ending the browsing session".
- Persistent cookies: These are stored on the device and the website reads them each time a new visit is made. A permanent cookie has a specific expiry date, which may vary according to the functionality for which it has been assigned. The cookie will cease to function after that date. You may view the information relating to the duration of persistent cookies in the table set out in this policy.
According to who manages them:
- First-party cookies: These are those cookies that are stored on the user's device by our equipment or domains and from which the relevant service of the website is provided.
- Third-party cookies: These are those cookies that are stored on the user's devices and which are not managed by ALTHENA, but rather by a collaborating third party. By way of example, these are those cookies used by social networks, video viewing or by the information provided by Google Maps to locate us.
Please note that, if you accept third-party cookies, you must delete them from the browser options or from the system offered by the third party itself.
